Overview

SimpleRX ("we," "our," or "the app") is a medication tracking application designed to help individuals manage their prescriptions and connect with caregivers. We take your privacy seriously, especially given the sensitive nature of health information.

Information We Collect

Information you provide:

• Name and date of birth
• Medication names, doses, and schedules
• Medical conditions, allergies, and blood type
• Emergency contact information
• Doctor and pharmacy contact details
• Photos of medications and uploaded documents
• Caregiver pairing codes and connections

Information collected automatically:

• App usage data stored locally on your device
• iCloud sync data (medications, emergency info, dose history) stored in your personal iCloud account via Apple CloudKit

How We Use Your Information

• To send local medication reminders and missed dose alerts
• To sync your data between your devices via Apple iCloud / CloudKit
• To share selected health information with linked caregivers (only with your permission)
• To look up medication information via the FDA's public OpenFDA database (drug names only — no personal data sent)
• To generate emergency reference cards and medication lists for your personal use

Data Storage

All personal health data is stored:

• Locally on your device
• In your personal Apple iCloud account (not our servers)

Caregiver Access

When you connect a caregiver, you control their access level:

• View Only — they can see your medication schedule and receive notifications
• Full Control — they can add medications and edit emergency information on your behalf

You can remove caregiver access at any time from Settings.

Third-Party Services

• Apple CloudKit — used for caregiver sync and pairing. Governed by Apple's Privacy Policy
• OpenFDA API — used to look up drug information by name. No personal information is sent. Governed by FDA's privacy policy
• Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) — used to deliver medication reminders and caregiver alerts

SimpleRX is not a medical device and is not intended to replace professional medical advice. Drug interaction warnings are informational only and sourced from public FDA data. Always consult your doctor or pharmacist before making medication decisions. The EMS Quick Reference Card is for informational purposes only and does not constitute a legal DNR or medical order.

Children's Privacy

SimpleRX is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Data Deletion

To delete all your data: uninstall the app and delete the associated iCloud data from Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Manage Storage → SimpleRX → Delete Data.

Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time. Since your data is stored in your own iCloud account, you have full control over it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
